Eligibility for payment for Newstart recipients requires proof of active job search activities. These requirements can be experienced as frustrating when there is no work available. Helping people to get work when there are limited options can be a complex and difficult process.

Working from Home

Working from home to generate income is an increasingly popular option for people who want to combine unpaid care work with earning an income. Running a home-based business can be an option for people with a business idea which does not rely on having a shop or display area. Those who are thinking about running a business from their home will need to get access to small business training and ensure that their premises are suitable for operating a business. There is a home-based business association in South Australia which has useful links for people thinking about a home-business option. http://brokenlink
