I am pleased to advise you that the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women, Senator the Hon. Jocelyn Newman, announced today that your application for project funding under the National Women’s NGO Funding Programme has been successful.
Your Single Mothers Networking Strategies project is one of ten applications selected for funding. You have been allocated $25,000 to undertake the project. The Office of the Status of Women (OSW) will contact you shortly to negotiate a Funding Agreement with your organisation. Please contact Ms Catherine Bridges on 02 6271 5443 if you would like further information.
A total of $560,000 will be provided to women’s organisations through OSW’s funding programme announced by Senator Newman today. In addition to project funding of $200,000, a further $300,000 will be provided for second year funding of the three national women’s secretariats. A third funding stream totalling $60,000 will be provided for capacity building activities. This stream has two components - $30,000 to continue the successful sector wide capacity building programme run last financial year and an additional $30,000 for focussed support for three organisations (Guides Australia, Women’s Action Alliance and Catholic Women’s League Australia). This support will assist these organisations to build effective access to mainstream policy and funding processes.
