Christine Cole is a PhD Candidate at the University of Western Sydney and is undertaking doctoral research on the experiences of 'unwed' mothers during the period from 1960 to the 1980s. Her aim is to determine and explain the 'culture' that operated within institutionalised and lay society as it pertained to 'unwed' motherhood and to establish its effect on the lived experience of these mothers. She is seeking participants from both single and relinquishing mothers.
All information gathered will be confidential with total anonymity assured. This project has been approved by the University of Western Sydney's Ethics Committee.
